I just received the 2005 Trailer Life RV Parks & Campground Navigator CD set. To me, as a trip planning tool, this program falls way short as a replacement for 2004 Trailer Life RV Parks & Campground Finder. Some of 2005's short comings are that it has no provision for calculating the cost of a trip, showing daily start/stop times, or entering reservations. 2004's feature of showing daily start/stop times is one of the programs best feature for planning a trip. Overall, I'd give the 2005 program one star at the best.
Is anyone else using the 2005 program? How do you like it?

Thanks,

Jack

I'm also verry disappointed with this product. Have been thinking of uninstalling it and going back to the 2004 program.

I don't have the '04 version, so I have nothing to compare it with. The first problem I had with the '05 version was that it doesnt properly fit on a 15.4" widescreen monitor. I had to change the screen resolution and if I leave it that way, everything else I do on the laptop has really small print. I thought it was advertised as not only giving you info. on campgrounds, but attractions in the surrounding area. In the little that I've played with it, I dont see that. It also should have info on services avail. along the way.
What we need is something that takes this program and incorporates Microsoft streets in to one program. I sent mine back.

I too purchased the 2005 CD and have the 2004 CD. They do not compare. The 2005 is already on its way back to them. I feel they have degraded the program and want more money for less.

My program is going back too. I wonder if there was a Beta version of the 2005 Trailer Life RV Parks & Campground Navigator CD set. And I wonder how trailer Life's management was duped into buying this RV Trip Planning Software? Perhaps if enough users send this program back under Trailer Life's Guarantee of Satisfaction, they'll get the message.

I have the 2004. It's OK but I use MS S&T 2005 for most of my campground planning and DeLorme Street Atlas 2005 for GPS.

The very first edition of the TL CD a couple of years ago went back faster than my CDROM could spin up the disk.

Now that's fast .....

I have two sons that are computer analysts, and they suggest that it may be that Trailer Live software may have been outsourced like a lot of it is now. I understand a lot of software has been disappointing lately due to the outsourcing. Just a thought.

It's interesting that I stumbled across this topic. I received my copy and the first thing that happened was it locked up my computer...not a good start. After locking it up several times, I realize that my problem was associated with the Products & Services link. I also noticed that the buttons and links did not align properly. I complained online and via telephone; one person sent me another set of software and the other sent me a mailer to return the software. In the meantime, I learned how to use the software via some workarounds. I decided to keep the software, but I really don't use it much so I probably should have returned it and at least got my money back. Needless to say, I am not happy with my purchase.

You can get the buttons to line up by going into your control panel, themes and appearances,
go to advanced settings and change your DPI from 120 to 96. Of course by doing that, everything you use your computer for will be small. So you probably want to change back to 120 after you are done using this software.

Mike,

Thanks for the tip - I learned something new and I always like learning tips like this. I went in and reviewed your steps, but I'm not sure if I want to go through this every time I use the software...but at least now I know how. Thanks again,

Wish we would have found this board and topic a long time ago. We are definitely computer literate and we really liked the 04 addtion except that my CD failed. That still left us the trip planning but not the RV park directory on the CD. I asked them to send another CD to replace it and they never did. I was excited about the 05 addition until I got it. It's still on the computer but we use the 04 addtion.

I just wish I had thought to send it back. Even if I didn't get my money back it would let them know they were selling junk. This has motivated me to call and complain even though it will just take my time and accomplish nothing!

When I sent mine back, I called first and advised them that was my intention. I believe they gave me some kind of return authorization number. You should do that and then send it back.

Frankly the 2005 version is a piece of crap!

I called them to complain, but they seemed uninterested. They sent me a free postage return label to return the CD set. After sending it back they billed me twice more !!

My follow up call finally cleared the air.

While I never fully liked the 2004 version because of campground location info errors ( one was 214 miles off!!) and interstate exit numbers wrong plus poor routing control, but it is better than the 2005.

I am still looking for a real good product that has a good GPS interface.
