I am thinking of installing this system on our MH and toad. However, I have several questions. First can I install this system on the ends of the stainless steel valve extenders (Wheel Masters) currently on the MH? Are there any problems with such a setup? Also, I have read that the size (length?)of the units can be a problem on some tires/wheels on the toad. If that is true has anyone installed them on a Honda CRV and what if any problems have you encountered with regards to the length of the units.

I presume the valve extenders are the pressurized type. In other words, you can check your tire pressure at the end of the extenders. If so, I believe you should be ok as long as you have clearance between the extender and the wheel. Each sensor is about 1 1/8" in diameter and about 1 1/4" long.
Some motorhomes due to their length and construction requires an external antenna. This antenna can be put further back inside the coach. I would try the unit without the antenna and see if you need it. My rig is 35' long and I dont need the antenna.
I am happy with mine. It gives me a nice sense of security knowing I am monitoring both the coach and the toad.
You can purchase the unit thru www.rvupgrade.com

I have not looked into a TPMS. I would have concern with a large cap on the end of a valve stem, turning at 500 RPM. I would think an internal pressure sensor would be much safer.??

2007 all passenger vehicles will have TPMS

In some cases you may need to wrap the extender in some high density foam to keep it from moving around. If you do so, I would check them periodically for wear. If there is no wear to the foam after several thousand miles, I would forget about it.<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by flyfisher:

In my case the wheel liner had to be removed to get the PressurPro on, and on another wheel the liner had to be ground down a 1/8". This certainly helps with theft protection, but will be a pain if air needs to be added.

On the toads, the most common problem are the rubber valve stems. The extra weight on the end can cause them to fail. Fortunately, you will be warned about it when towing. It was not an issue on my toad because it has metal valve stems.

Can't speak to the Honda.

HINT: If you take the units off of the toad, you need to label which tire the came from or reprogram them when you put them back on. I take my off when I take the Jeep offroading. I did not label them and decided not to worry which wheel the are on. If any of them alarm, I'll stop and check all 4 tires.

Just got back from a 2 month trip with Doran Pressure Pros installed on my motorhome. They worked fine, with one possibly sensitive to ambient temperature. The Doran people at the rally I was attending said said send it in and they will check it.
While in motion, the centrifugal (sp) force will tend to push it onto the stem, rather then off, right?

We too are considering this system and also have a concern about mounting the sensors to the extenders. We will probably wait until solid, bendable valve stems, such as Dually Valves, are installed. We're also wondering about the battery life as the replacement battries, for the entire system of 10 sensors, is going to be almost as expensive as the system itself.

The valve stem threads are all right hand. As to which side is likely to loosen, I never can remember. I'm not old enough to have had a car with right and left hand lug nuts.

Bluewind.
The batteries don't all die at the same time, so you won't be replacing 10 at once. Also you can extend the battery life quite a bit, by removing the sensors when parked for extended periods of time. You do have to send the sensor in to be replaced by a refurbished one. Cost less then new ones, but not free.
