We are considering installing a Doran 360 system on our Allegro 32. We tow a Scion Xd which has it's own internal tire pressue monitoring system. The Scion's system only warns of a low tire. These systems seem to be the norm on new cars. I've been told by a Doran rep. that the Scion system would interfer with Doran sensors when installed on the Scion. We can still use Doran on the MH but not the Scion. Does anyone know of a way aroung this problem? It seems that with many new cars having their own tire pressure warning system that this would be somewhat of a common problem.
Thanks
Robert

Hey Robert,
I think I overhead you speaking to one of the sales associates here at RVupgrades. He may have explained things incorrectly. You can use the Doran system with your Scion toad, you just will not be able to use the sensors that the Scion system uses. You will need to use the Doran sensors to monitor those tires.
So in your case you will need a 10 sensor system.

Can I add Doran sensors to my Saturn that has the internal sensors for dash panel air pressure readings? I have them on my coach and would like to extend my coverage to the toad.

You should be able to use external sensors with any toad, including those with their own built in system. I use the Pressure Pro system on my GMC Acadia, which has its own system as well. Since I cannot get the Acadia's own system to report to me while I'm driving the coach, I added the pressure Pro sensors to the toad as well as the coach. Works fine and I've been towing it for nearly two years now.

Thanks Warpath.
I will order 10 sensors. Once installed on the Scion will I be able to still monitor the pressure on the Scion with the Scion system or will the Doran sensors have to be removed when I'm using the Scion and not towing it?
Robert

You will not have to remove the Doran sensors to use the Scion system.

Thanks Gary. I believe that is the equivalent of my Saturn Outlook so the same thing should work for me. I'll order a couple more sensors to complete my setup. Did you have to rebalance the tires or change the stems?

I use the pressure pro system on my 42' ts and jeep liberty. I did buy the repeater for it. I was having trouble receiving a couple sensors on the jeep. I wouldn't travel without it now. It has saved two tires for me. Dave

No - everything worked as is with no problems whatsoever.
[Sorry for the delayed response - I must have missed this question when I read it before]

We went to a 10 traducer Doran 360 system mid August. The transducer program seems overwhelming, but if you do it step-by-step, EXACTLY by the book, the system works great. A couple words of caution. We have it on 6 MH wheels and a '08 Vue.
On a 1500 mile trip early September we had a lot of air leak problems. Two transducers ruined from overtightening and a valve stem extender not properly installed. Do not overtighten the transducers. You will ruin the gasket, and your tire will leak down.
If you have front hubcaps, you probably will have to get valve extensions. I tried to cut out part of the hubcap, but it did not work. Doran can tell you where to get the extensions.
The audible alarm in the head unit is very very very quiet, and I don't think you will be able to hear it with the engine running on a front engine gasser. The light is not that noticeable. I HIGHLY recommend that you put the head unit as close in front of you as possible. The most important alarm function is quick air loss and with the dim red light and a faint "squeek" that is barely audible, you need to react fast!
We don't regret spending the $600 for it, and as soon as the one year warranty is up, I'm going to pay a knowledgeable person to go in and put a new alarm parallel to the existing one. The lack of sound is just awful!
