Equalizer for Duals using Pressure Pro?

I have decided to install a PP system and would like some advice. I have two questions:

1) Should I use a pressure equalizer on the duals and attach only one PP sensor to each set? I've read that the inside dual can run much hotter (and therefore generate more pressure when hot). Would installing one of those devices which maintains equal pressure in each dual be a good idea? I know that I could simply install a sensor on each wheel but then I'd expect the inside tire (once hot) to be running at a higher pressure than the outside.

2) Should I purchase the cable antenna? The wireless repeater? Or... are either of these necessary?

Insights on these would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rick,
I have not seen my inside tires running any higher PSI than the outside tires. I have a sensor on each wheel.

I've had my PP over two years. The repeater option was not available when I purchased my system. I was required to purchase/install the external antenna. With the rubber duck antenna, some toad sensors would not always report in to the command center. Once installed, all sensors are received correctly. I would not consider coupling both duals together. You would have two flat tires if one developed a leak before you could stop, run back and disconnect the good(which one?) tire. BTW, the PP may be purchased separately($199), and each remote sensor($50), some places sell it as a complete system though.

I have done like Gary. The monitor is mounted on top of my dash -- in the middle -- I have the wood top on my dash. On the right side is the GPS and on the right is the satellite radio receiver. I have also put a sensor on both the inner and outer dual at the rear. I have a tow dolly and I do not have a repeater or external antenna and I receive both the tow dolly and the rear tires on my toad OK. I have a 36' unit. Hope this helps.

Thanks much guys! I think I'll go with a 10 sensor PP and probably go with the wireless repeater to simplify installation just a bit.

I had heard that inside duals run hotter and therefore carry more pressure than the outside dual when on the road. My question about the pressure equalizer was aimed at addressing that but it appears that it might not be an issue.

And, thanks for the input Ray on coupling the duals together but I was referring to the use of products such as "Crossfire" which include a valve which isolates the bad tire in case of a leak >10%.

I run both the PP system and the Crossfire crossover system together and I would not do it differently.

First, the Crossfire gives me the benefit of just walking around and seeing my duals are of proper equal pressure and more importantly I just have one place to air both tires. This includes checking in storage as I store a lot. For years I knelt down and aired each dual and checked them but at 75 Years Of Age this is much better.

On Pressure Pro, I just run one sensor for the two duals and that is simpler. My spec pressure is 85 and the Crossfire freezes the crossover at 75 pounds so one sensor is fine. I know this feature works as I had a leak in one dual and the other held at 75 pounds.

They work fine together as I have had this system installed for over three years.
