I do my own RV detailing. While washing, I always wash the roof first to eliminate black streaks later down the road. I have always used a brush with a long handle. This task however caused my already torn up back to flare up the last time I tackled the roof, so I started thinking of alternatives. I thought of using my pressure washer, but it’s a PITA to set up and tear down and I’m always worried that the high pressure might rip off a roof seam or something.

Enter the info-mercial for the EZ Jet Water Cannon. It claims to have pressure washer power without the pressure washer fuss. I knew it couldn’t be as powerful as a true pressure washer, but I decided to drop the $26 with S&H to give it a try. I normally don’t buy directly from phone numbers or web sites advertised on TV, as they always try and sell you additional stuff and the shipping time is normally excessive. I found a seller on eBay selling the same system for the same price, so I ordered it.

My experience: The EZ Jet would work well if you need to shoot water up to a second story window, but it can’t compare to a true pressure washer, but then again, you really can’t expect it to. I do however like the soap dispenser and the firehose style on/off valve. It is a bit awkward compared to normal garden hand spray nozzles, but it is more powerful. As far as RV washing is concerned, it did a good job of washing the surface dirt off of my roof with the use of the soap dispenser, but it left dirt behind that a brush would have removed. Can you truly expect it to do more? Probably not. The only thing other than a brush that would have removed more dirt IMO would have been a real pressure washer, but as I stated, I don’t want to use one on my roof. All in all, it did ok, but I’ll admit I was a little disappointed.

Overall the EZ Jet doesn’t live up to all of it’s claims, but it’s not a bad tool. It’s just not worth the $26 sticker. Wait until they appear in stores for less.

This is not a new product.. I have used several simular products over the years, they are good, The major difference between the "Water Canon" and a high pressure job is how much water you use.. And to some extend how much cleaning power

High pressure will take bumper stickers off... Heck if the job is poor it will take paint off.. Water cannon likely will not take a bumper stucker off

It also uses several times more water

That said.. It is a related product I use to clean my rig usually since the pressure washer is too bulky to lug around full time.

Thanks for pointing that out, but I'm not sure I agree 100% with you. Similar doesn't mean it's not a new product. The EZ Jet Water Cannon just recently started appearing in my area.

I too have seen similar products over the years...the old JetX immediately comes to mind. That doesn't mean they perform the same however, hence my evaluation solely of the EZ Jet design.

Happy travels...

First there was the "Slanket" and now there is the "Snuggie" (and the Slanket is still out there). The Snuggie is a new product name for an old idea. Sprayers that take normal water pressure and increase them through a variety of nozzles are also new, but not unique. If you need a tool that will accomplish the job normally handled by a high pressure sprayer, you are going to need a high pressure sprayer.
I use a small Karcher H-P sprayer that is lightweight, easy to store and easy to use, even up on the roof. I wouldn't be without one.

YMMV.

YMMV.
I use the same small pressure washer purchased at WalMart -- not as fancy or powerful as our gas pressure washer, but more than adequate for the RV. We carry our Karcher with us when on the road.

On most high pressure washers the nozzles are changable and a wider spray pattern doesn't have the stream of water striking that a narrow spray pattern would. I have a commerical 3000 psi washer which i use to wash my RV/truck with using a 45 degree pattern nozzle. Needless to say I don't hold the nozzle in one place and not right down against whatever I am washing

I was thinking of something... You mentioned you work from the roof down (Makes sense to me)

I've had several "experts" (See joke below) tell me that to eliminate streaking you should work bottom up.. Seems to me if the dirt from the top streaks on down.. When you move down you will un-streak it as you clean.

Joke:

Expert: (Adj) Is a compound word consiting of EX and Spurt

EX (Adj) Has been
Spurt (noun) Drip under Pressure

And in this thread.. (Water guns) there are lots and lots of Ex-Spurts (Cause that's what a Water gun produces)
