We have a pair of Motorola "Talkabout" hand held radios model T6500 for communicating between rigs when in close proximity. They work fairly well, but they sound like everyone is talking in a tin can. Are there any FSR/GMRS radios with quality sound?

Thanks in advance.

Important to talk directly into the radio within 5 inches of your mouth...otherwise you'll get tin can effect.

If you can find them, the inexpensive Motorola Talkabout 250 has excellent sounding speakers (and good range too). Does not sound like the tinny sounding T6500. But you may have problems finding them because Motorola has not marketed them for quite a while now. Check ebay type places
