Good Sam Software For Rand Mcnally

I have been playing around with the new Good Sam software for the Rand McNally GPS. Looks like you can download the trip the way that you want to travel from your computer to GPS. This would be great instead of trying to forced the GPS to take the route you want to use. I would be interested to hear from those that may have tried this free software and how useful you find it.

Can this be found on the Good Sam website? I would be interested in taking a look at it to see if I can use it.

Good Sams Club Trips, it works for 7720 also not just the Good Sams Rand McNally 7725.

It's on their web site and works quite well. Problem is it will not work on anything other than the GPS equipment they sell.

Streets and Trips is almost identical and works with everything but of course it is not free.

I found it on the desktop of the RM Dock Software. Played with it for several hours, planned several trips, transferred the trips back to my 7720, works for me.

I found it better and easier than planning the trips just on the GPS.

I have tried it and it works well. The only problem is that it does not recognize weight limits on roads or issues with propane carrying vehicles on certain routes. Consequently if you print the route and then download to your GPS they won't match up in some situations.

When I go to the Good Sam Website to "Plan A Trip", I get this message "Your account does not yet have access to the new Trip Planning Service. Please try again in 24 hours.
In the meantime, try the original Trip Routing Service below."

I think I have to "Upgrade" my RM 7710 with Lifetime Maps. I'm not sure whether or not I have to shell out the $89 for that upgrade just to get access to the Good Sam (Website) Trip Planning Software that is Downloadable. I think the GS Trip Planning website Software is (choke $89) worthwhile buuuuuuuuuuuut, I would like to confirm FIRST.

I think it is well worth it. I always print a hard copy before downloading because I like to see the whole picture and as I said, because there is no input on your computer for RV type, size, etc you have to keep in mind that sometimes the hardcopy does not sync up with your GPS. That's why we have a rule that when there's a difference, the GPS prevails.

I had the same problem and a quick phone call fixed it. Problem is, I don't remember what they had me do. Senior moment. Call them.

Well, I was happy with the GS Trip Planner, however, now it won't respond to "Drag & Drop" feature to change the routes. The circle icon will highlight on the original route, but won't move to a new roadway. Anyone else have a problem, or have I just missed something. BTW it worked in the past.
