Goodyear

A federal appeals court has upheld a lower court decision that sanctioned tire giant Goodyear in the case of a family injured when a Goodyear G159 tire on their motorhome failed at highway speed. When the steer tire blew, the motorhome rolled. The Haeger family sued Goodyear, and during court proceedings, Goodyear's attorneys asserted they had provided all available test documentation that the Haegers had requested. It later turned out that the attorneys acted in bad faith, knowing more test information was available. The lower court ordered the Haegers be paid $2.7 million as a sanction against the company and its attorneys. Goodyear appealed, and has lost.

It is good that they won but the lawyers will get most of the money. I hope the Haeger family can move on with their lives and no be traumatized by this event.
