I did a search for what folks on this forum were using and decided to do a mini review of the 3 PC based laptop system I have installed.
I have:
1)Garmin GPS 18 - $100 for GPS receiver & software.
2)MS Streets & Trips - $39 for software only. I use my Garmin GPS receiver with Franson's GPS gateto create a virtual com port from USB.
3)CoPilot 9 Navigator - $29 from Dell
The overall winner is the GPS 18. But, if you just want the basics or are not sure sure what you need then try the CoPilot 9. Your only out $30 of you don,t like it.
For a complete review and screen shots go to my web site and look in the Tech Tips 3 section.

If you get a chance, try out the Mio C230 DigiWalker. Some of the reviews I've read say this is a real sleeper! Has Text-to-Speech for under $150 and they are hacking it already for more. You can also take it out of the RV and carry it in your pocket for hikeing.
