Question hitch cam for 5er

Has anybody tried to use a camera for hitching a 5th wheel?

Why? You can see it all in the mirrors, or out the rear window.

rgv, you sound so confident in your answer

but to the OP...
I can't see mine either chuck ---
because of the crew cab and folded tonno cover, it's out of sight...

I've entertained the idea of installing a camera so I can see the hitch, but it just hasn't bubbled up to the top of the list yet

Never had a problem with my 35' Komfort/ F350 SuperCab. But I did not have the tonnequ cover. Remember left to right will be reversed on most displays (unless meant to be back up cam) I have a mirror that I temp attach to the bow of the boat so I can see the stinger ball. One on the king pin box, may help.

Happy Travels

Angry backup camera

Chrysler opted to make a center headrest that can't be removed which blocks view of hitch. Trucks a mega cab. That's why camera idea.

The 5th wheel has the "V" in it so that you don't have to be perfect in the approach, just close.

If you can't hit it using only the side view mirror, a little practice would be in order, it's really simple, millions of people do it, so can you!

One trick I've seen used was to place a stick alongside the rear whee/tire when the trailer is attached, then when reattaching, you have a reference point readily present. Soon you won't need it because the side of the trailer is all the reference you will need!

When you order your new one ( ), the gooseneck/5th wheel hitch camera is either standard equipment or an option along with the backup camera, depending on the equipment package(s) you choose. The hitch camera is located in the CHMSL/bed light assembly at the top center of the rear of the cab.
