Hughes Power WatchDog Review

My Review: Bought one, but don't recommend it.

Thanks for the report. I'm a big Progressive Industries fan!

What does that have to do with the review?

My guess is since you mentioned the PI unit in your review and further you recommended not buying the Hughes unit he was saying he liked the other unit you mentioned in your review.

I read your online review that you linked.

You stated "while the Power WatchDog will alert you if it finds an electrical error (see NOTE below), it can only tell you that there is a problem. It can’t disconnect your RV from the power source"

That statement is incorrect. The WatchDog will open the circuit in case of a surge as stated in the enclosed instructions and on their website. the stated protection is 4800 joules of replaceable surge protection.

It is sold as a surge suppressor only, not as a complex power monitor as you compared to the Progressive HW50C.

Its an apple orange comparison considering the price of $140.00 to the Progressives price of $336.00

I think the HW50C is a favorable product but is is more than double the price.
