I don't know where else to post this question so I'll ask it here. If one of you regurlars can direct me to a better forum to ask this, please let me know. Thanx.

I'm trying to find the lowest profile in-motion satellite receiver on the market to mount on a motorhome. I won't be able to use the standard "big dome" type because of the limited clearance my RV garage door dictates.

Is anybody uisng this receiver? It's a Datron DBS48500 with a height of 9.5" click here

If anybody is using it, would you care to post your opinions??

Is there any other alternative?

The next lowest profile that I've been able to find is the TracStar SV360 @ 12.75" in height. click here

Is there anything else out there that accomplishes receiving in-motion satellite signals that is specified for RV use?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Check out the T motion by Motosat. It is only 2.5 inches tall. It won't be available until 2nd quarter of 2004. WWW.motosat.com

I've been told that the Trac Star has a lower profile...not sure of measurements, but it does look lower on the vehicles that we have seen it on. Maybe you could look it up on the web. Sorry, don't know the website address.

Wow, I guess I am one of the few with one of these units. It works great and have been very happy with it and the support from the company when I did have a problem was outstanding. I am very surprised that I do not see more of these on RVs. I guess they are not sold though the main suppliers. Since you posted last Feburary I guess you have decided on something by now.

Audiovox, Winegard, and KVH make a unit that is about 6" tall. They will work only on Direct TV
