Industrial Brand Injectors- Ford 7.3

What's the opinion on Industrial brand injectors. I have one dead injector(#8) which has been causing a shutter at mid speeds. The mechanic wants to install the Ind'l brand but from what I've heard they have a problem some times, or is that just the 1:1,000,000 cases.

My old stock ones have 68,000 miles. Is that normal for a 7.3 diesel? I'm willing to bet the fuel filters have never been changed.

68k miles???? You don't have a bad #8 most likely. It could be a stock AD and they solved the "tick" with a new long lead AE injector. It just fills up with more oil and fuel since #6 depletes both oil and fuel rails because it fires right before #8.

I bet there was a code for #8?

That explains why.

Also, I have 350k miles on stock injectors.

I really don't have an idling or missing problem. But its good to know I should carry a spare CPS. And what did that have to do with AD/AE injectors?

When accelerating normally and just after it shifts into 3rd @ around 32mph, it starts to shutter between 35 & 45mph and smooths out at about 1800 RPMs.

So if I read you right, then the #6 is stealing all the fuel and not allowing #8 enough fuel to fire? And your saying the resolve is to change to AE injectors?

You also have a high pressure oil rail too, since you have an HEUI system.

AD injectors were stock, and the AE injector was a "fix." Just a band air really.

Without monitoring live data during the stutter, it's all guessing. Could be a cracked flex plate, bad throttle position sensor, high pressure oil issue, etc.

I took it to Dynamic Diesel, which are supposed to be one of the best here N. of Seattle. They did do a test drive with the computer attached. And they will be installing a new oil system with the injectors.
I'd be doing all this work myself if I hadn't wrecked my back, and grown old on top of it. I even sold off my hobby/machine shop and only kept enough hand tools for maintenance and support.

What I'd really like to know is the Industrial make/brand a good quality injector.

You must not have a 7.3 if you managed to get 350K miles on your injectors since this seems to be, from what I've read, a common problem for the 7.3's. But I do appreciate the info given!

A new oil system? Like a new HPOP or oil rails or what? Cause maybe they just don't know?

I'm not sure about Industrial. I think they don't have a good Powerstroke reputation.
Swamp's does, Wide Open Performance, and Casserly are all great, widely known highly regarded places.

And I do have a 2000 F350, w/7.3 and 4R100. 350K miles on stock injectors, HPOP, and trans. Injectors are not a common breaking point on 7.3s.
