Jack Antenna
Had trouble with the original outside antenna on our '01 Alpine. I could not get more than one channel. I ordered a Wingegard 3000 omni directional antenna from CW. After installation, I could only get about 5 channels. So I installed a Jack antenna. It has signal strength LED's to help in locating channels. After doing a search for signals on the TV, I can now happily report that I am getting 36 channels in my area. Needless to say, I am now one happy camper! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Jack antenna to anyone.
HAGD,
Alex

I suspect your original outside antenna had a bad connection, (or the amp went bad).
Although the reception of the King Controls "Jack antenna" is comparable to that of a Winegard batwing, it is not a "miracle cure".
BTW, few "omni directional" antennas can match the reception of a properly aimed batwing or Jack antenna.

The original antenna may have had a bad connection or may have simply failed.
The OMNI should be taken off the market cause they are not worth the shippign and handling let alone the purchase price.
The JACK is a major improvement on the OMNI but based on my signal strength readings I do not think i'd be watching what I'm watching now if I had to rely one one.. The Fully loaded Batwing (Winegard Sensar IV or the IV or III with Batwing, and the Sensar Pro module indoors) ....
Well, it does the job.

On a coach as old as mine, I wouldn't be one bit surprised about the coax having a bad connection. What I do like about the Jack the most is the signal strength indicator that helps me point the antenna to the proper location for best signal strength. I will also state that CW customer support has been outstanding. They have sent me a prepaid shipping sticker to return the Roadmate 3000 antenna for a refund. But I am happy, happy, happy now with the Jack antenna.
YMMV and HAGD.

Well don't tell anyone here! As you can tell if ain't no directional giving the maximum signal strength, then it must be junk! Never mind the possibility of other considerations. Such as roof placement conflicts, convenience, ease of use or for those who simply don't care if they get every possible channel!

The best feature of the Jack is NOT those cool blue LEDs that illustrate signal strength. The BEST feature is that you don't have to remember to lower it before leaving the campground!!! LOL! \ken

I do enjoy watching a coach pull into a CG with one of the aluminum wings on a Winegard antenna bent up. Doesn't happen with a Jack antenna. We have gone from six stations on a Winegard antenna (up) to 17 stations with the Jack antenna (down) in our driveway. The only change was the antenna itself--and our coach is now 26 years old!!

No, the best feature is being able to use it going down the road.
You wouldn't believe the noises a Winegard makes at 65 mph!

Antenna height is your friend!
To get even better long distant reception than is possible with the King Controls Jack: King Controls JACK Over the Air Digital Antenna White - $103.99, replace the batwing on an existing Winegard crank-up mechanisum with the less expensive "Jack replacement head": Jack Replacement Head For Sensar Tv Antenna and crank it up.
(However you do have remember to crank it down).

In a recent stay in side by side sites we got exactly the same signal strength & reception on identical TV's.
