One more set-out and put-away item off our checklist. Research led me to the Marley S1500TB aka Qmark QTS1500T. Got mine on ebay for $154 shipping included. After a little rearranging things I was able to install it under the kitchen sink with it's own power line and circuit breaker. May need to upsize breaker from 15 to 20 amp. After I installed everything I discovered heater exceeded 80% of breaker capacity.
PLUSES
This is a compact heater 14 1/4 wide 3 5/8 high and only 8 7/8 deep. Rated at 120 volts with wattage jumper selectable 750 or 1500 watts. Heating elements are enclosed in metal tubes with fins for better heat transfer.and the blower is tangential (squirrel cage). as opposed to fan and open elements. Blower motor does not turn on until heating elements reach operating temp. and does not shut off till elements cool off. No cold air on start-up and extracts the last bit of heat on shut-down just like our S&B central air. About the same noise level as our portables, maybe a little bit more. Output air is HOT! When I figure out a reasonable way to test that I will add results. On shut-down cycle when heating elements turn off blower sound indicates a speedup. Suspect this caused by voltage drop in my at home long power cable. Need to check voltage at heater to confirm.
MINUS
Thermostat is at floor level making adjustment a PITA. Also on/off detente is mushy. A wall mounted thermostat kit is available and I will probably have to add that later.

I tried to edit my post and add following but can't?? Do not use this heater if little ones are on the floor or older kids don't understand HOT. I was using my IR gun to test output temp and found several hot spots on the grill over 400 degrees.
