I heard a great review of a product called a Mosquito magnet. The person swears by it. There are many similar products like the Coleman Mosquito Deleto and the Galaxie skeeter vac. Most require propane and 3 wk refills, but the galaxie requires no propane. They supposedly help clear a 1 acre area of mosquitos.
Here is the premise: They give off heat, scent, CO2, etc similar to a human. Some even have flitters of light as well. They attract the female mosquitos and then suck them into a container where they die. Since it attracts thousands of femals a week, the life cycle is broken and the population is depleted after a few weeks.
Anyone ever tried one of these? Do they work? If not, any other ideas?

Here's a DIY project you and the kids might enjoy.
If you want to really get serious, BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis israeliensis) is available to the public. It's only toxic to mosquito's and black flys (or so the Xspurtz say). BTI is the stuff you see the various mosquito control people throwing into swamps etc.

We tried them out, last year. For us, performance was marginnall, at best.

Mosquito magnet. Is that the thing you place at the other end of the CG so all the mosquito's are attracted to it? I once used a Japanese beetle trap and ended up with hordes of them around the place. The county extension agent said the traps attract beetles from as far as a mile away, and next time place the trap way away from the house.

We have found the Mosquito Magnet to work very well, after several weeks of continuous use.

Does anyone have a link to a vendor for this wondrous device?
