I've had Mag, Fenix but I've been keeping my Pelican 7060 for awhile now. Rechargeable with the dock wired into the coach, this light never fails and can definitely put some light out.

I found out last night that if you turn it on for about 5 seconds, then off and on again it will start flashing about once per second. Turn it of and on again it will start sending a morse code SOS.

I should have read the manual! I had no idea.

We use the HarborFreight (free with min. purchase) 3 AAA cell LED ones.
Meduim light and can leave where you use them most.
Not a bad price and they come with cheepy batts. even.

A bit expensive but the little Streamlight will cast a beam farther and stronger than a 4 cell Maglite.

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Streamlight 74301 Strion LED Flashlight with AC/12-Volt DC and 1-Holder, Black

With winter coming on soon, and shorter periods of daylight, this is the best model I've ever owned. It will shoot a spot, bright, beam of light at night, at least 50 feet.

I carry it in the belt holster, provided in the packaging, all the time. As I get older and brightness of light diminishes for me, as I peer in bays, closets, drawers, etc this little gem is invaluable.

Everyone around me wants to always use my light, all the time- especially the bride!

I will buy them to give as Christmas gifts to close friends and family (Yes, the bride will get one also).

It only takes two "AA" and they last, with constant use, two months.

Believe me, this is a "#1- Winner" for a new product-

(and I have no affilication with the MAGLITE folks- wish I did!)

Cheers,
Be careful not to drop it. I' have a drawer full of them that didn't survive falling on a concrete floor. When they hit the concrete from any height the reflectors break. The reflector holds the bulb in place so once it's cracked the light ceases to function.

I still have at least half a dozen of them thinking that one day I'll find replacement parts. So far no good. I'm sure the day after I throw them all away I'll find a source for parts.

A couple months ago I found a new RayOVac industrial LED flashlight. They're single or multiple LED lights expected to be used in industrial situations

Rayovac Work Lights

They're tough enough that I doubt even I can kill them. They come in several sizes. So far I've gotten the one that uses 2 AA cells and the one that uses 3 C cells. The AA one is compact and has a nice bright beam. The C cell one has 2 light intensities. At the highest intensity it'll shine a pencil beam at least 100 yards.

also they have a indicator on the end that flashes red when
battery's are low, a 3 pack is $18 Brought 2 packs have them
in different rooms for emergence like earthquakes and power

My local Ace Hardware usually stocks all the replacement parts for all the Mag Lite models. CVS Pharmacy has a few also.

OK I will admit that we are addicted to flashlights. Here are a couple that we have. We go herping so a good light is key to spot.

Not much time left on this one.
Fenix LD10 for $29.99

Daily Steals Today Home

It's normally a $50 light.
100 lumens from one AA battery ain't bad.
