New 3500watt inverter generator option

I recently bought the new HF inverter generator. The generator is very quiet and so far I couldn't be happier. I'll keep you informed as we use it. It runs the 13.5K AC with room to spare.

How is this working out for you? Are you still happy with it?

Very much so. I forgot to tell my daughter to turn off the AC before using the microwave and it didn't overload.
I did have to take the first one back. The RV plug didn't work correctly. For some reason the RV plug overloaded without even getting to 15amps. Oddly enough the regular plugs still ran the AC. The one I have now works flawlessly. I think I get somewhere around 5hrs with the AC on. I've never let it run out of gas though.
The handles are very sturdy and allow me to fairly easily drag it across the lawn. They would also be nice for locking up the generator.
We bought the 2 year warranty just to be safe. With the 3 month OEM that gives us more than two years of worry free use.

I've been waffling between the Champion and the one you have
1. "harbor freight"
2. only 3 month warranty from the OEM.
what is your take on how loud it is?
that is the one thing I could not find was the DB rating.
but all the reviews on harbor have been real positive regarding this unit would like to hear your thoughts in another month
please keep us posted

thank you

The predator inverter generator is really quiet. I can't imagine a 3K generator being more quiet. The only reason to not go with the HF model is because it's untested IMO. I bought the extra 2 year warranty to try and help with that.

The website says 57 db. Electric start and 11 hour run time @ 25% load.

The "Key" words here is 25% load....what is the db & fuel consumption at full load?
Had a fellow camper next to us during the eclipse running a brand new Harbor Fright generator for A/C ... what a bellowing beast when under full load usage, and he was filling the tank every 4 hours.

The writeup say that it runs at 57 dBs.

In another sentence it states will run for 11 hours at 25% power.

That does not mean it will be at 57 dB at 25% power.

When I was shopping for a generator, I emailed Champion about the dB level in there specs. They replied that the dB level was measured at 0 load. With 0 ( zero ) load, I don't need it running.

I'm not saying that HF is using the same misleading marketing of dB and load measurements as Champion, but they may.

The major players in inverter generators, Honda and Yamaha, give db specs at 1/4 load and full output loads.

I bought one of the HF 3500 generators right when they first came out and hav a little over 60 hrs on it now. Great little unit, quiet, so far dependable and handles up to gated load quite well as well as a good surge capability. I bought it because the twin 2000 watt gens struggled to power the 15k air conditioners in my fifth wheel under most conditions I would try to use them in. Paralleling them was also a pain.

The HF is quieter than my champions at both low and high power settings. It will run my AC for approximately 7 hours, with my rig generally drawing around 18 to 21 ac amps when the air conditioner on, fully charged batts, a couple lights and maybe the TV powered.

I bought this unit in August and have been very satisfied. I think I have more then a hundred hours on it, haven't check it for awhile. I have ran my 15000 BTU AC and I think its as quite as the Honda. I picked it up on sale for $649.00 and thought I would give it a try. Now if it lasts, it will be worth the money.

If you heard it from your MH it wasn't the 3500 inverter generator. So far I've gotten 5.5 hours with AC running. (Still wasn't out of gas)
The generator is so quiet I don't even bother with ECO mode. No one that has heard my generator can believe how quiet it is. Even the reviews on YouTube show it to be as quiet as Honda.

True... I did not pay attention to which brand of HF generator it was.. altho it was pretty quiet at low power usage.

My comments were more about the " bellowing beast" possibly being a different model than we
are talking about.
