A new product is now available that I think is extremely effective in eliminating the bounce and shaking of the RV after setting up. It is the Steadyfast stabilizers (www.steadyfast.com). They attach to the underside of the rig on the frame with pivot brackets, and to the bottom of an existing scissor jack at the rear and a scissor jack or landing jack at the front. Based on the triangle principle, they eliminate the ability of your RV to move either sideways or front to back. The stabilizer bars are mounted permanently and deploy every time you put down your jacks, so there is nothing extra you have to store, carry around, set up or adjust. Whenever you put down your jacks, all you do is tighten a knob on each of the three stabilizing bars. I installed a set on my 37 foot 5th wheel, another on my son's 32 footer, and a 3rd on my small travel trailer. The little trailer used to flex so much when I put down the front & rear scissor jacks that the door wouldn't open. Now I put the jacks down to the ground, give each 1 & 1/2 additional turns, and the RV is completely solid. And THE DOOR OPENS! Couldn't be simpler. Installation does require drilling a few holes in the frame to bolt on the pivot brackets, and the kit comes with new footplates to attach the stabilizer bars to. No additional crossbraces or supporting metal pieces need to be welded or bolted on. The kit even includes the drill bit needed to drill the holes.
