Onan Generator quits in high heat -- solved

In a previous thread, I reported on a problem with my 2005 Onan 5500 generator stopping in high heat for no known reason. After some communication with the manufacturer (who seemed to have never heard of the problem) and noting that a number of other folks had experienced a similar problem, I decided on a direct approach. I had a local generator service company replace the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and check the integrity of the fuel line. I then took a 3000 mile trip, some of it in hot weather. I run the generator almost all of the time when on the road so that I can run the basement AC on my 2005 Itasca (it's more efficient than running the main engine AC). Result: No failures, no unexpected stops, and no apparent problem with high heat. This seems to have fixed my problem, but whether that would fix the problem for everyone, I can't say.
