I have seen a couple of these Portable Water Softener & Conditioners in use and got one negative and one positive opinion. There is also one positive review at Camping World. The negative response concerned the monthly maintenance. Any of you use this softener? Thanks for any info.

We have one and are very satisfied. We're full timers and wash at least one load of clothes a day and usually have to backflush and refill every 10 days. The only gripe I have is that the hole for filling with salt is too small. Takes me about 20 minutes to backflush, refill, and drain. It's a good investment in saving your water heater, ice maker, etc., plus the soft water is great.

The portable water softeners at watersticks.com only take about 2 minutes to regenerate...real simple and inexpensive too. Have had one for 3 years now and lasts about a month between regenerating in medium hard water.

We have been using, and love, the unit we got from On The Go. Easy to replenish, just add a pound of table salt as needed, and you are good to go again. Wouldn't be without it, what a difference. It is available, I believe, from RV Upgrades.

We've been using the On the Go unit for three years and love it. Recharging is simple and cheap.
