Outdoor thermometer remote location?

Where is the best location for the wireless remote outdoor thermometer on a motorhome? I want a place that will give an accurate reading while traveling and also while parked. What is the best way to mount it?

Now that is a cool idea. Never thought about a zip lock bag. Thanks

Right now mine is under the "hood" up pretty high, but I think I will move mine as Nosticks has done.

If you have tire pressure monitors on your tires, you may need to be a little careful where you put the wireless thermometer, because it may interfere with your pressure monitor. A friend of mine was having trouble and they told him it was his wireless thermometer that was causing it.

Mine is in a cellophane bag attached to my spare tire (under the cover) on the rear off my trailer. Works good as long as the sun isn't shining on the cover.

Mounted on the wall of the propane compartment, which is open underneath!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Merry Christmas!

I put mine under the rolled up awning near the front support arm. Protected somewhat from water and wind, and never in the sun.

I have mine tie strapped to the propane tank. Great while stationary, but while driving you pick up the heat from the RV to give a higher reading than the air temp.

Velcro attached inside propane bay but always reads high when parked on asphalt or first 20 minutes after driving.

AND while propane is being used I believe the temperature of the LP tank will be lower/colder than the temperature of the air surrounding it.

It's best to locate a remote temperature sensor as far away from anything creating either heat or cold as possible.

Two answers.. And I use both of 'em

I have one attached to something in the Propane compartment. So long as I am NOT using the Generator this compartment is open to air, and insulated from the sun so it's a very good location.. If I am running the generator, Well the wall seperating that space from the genny is NOT insulated (There is a huge air gap between the generator and propane tank, and a wall, just not a well insulated wall, and a drive shaft for that mater) so it warms up a bit, but otherwise it's the best place

I have a 2nd one behind the front grill on the windshield washer bottle which is accurate if parked, and if driving, just not if sitting with engine at idle,, Both are out of the sun, Protected from weather for the most part, and open to air.
