For whatever it's worth, true-- the head doesn't shut completely off, (gos to a very slow drizzle on mine) but the instructions stated this was to keep from having changes in water temperature to the body as you turned the flow on and off. Works for me---

I do believe this shower head should be standard equipment in rigs!

Best,

OK now the BIG question....where did you get THAT shutoff valve and for us "nonplumbers" what do you call it when you ask at the counter??? Question concerning the pic from MonacoMama

On ours it was part of the original shower hookup so I put it back on after the first shower so it can be positively shut off. We like the Oxygenics shower head but does anybody have a problem with the spray out of the sides of the head? Seems like a lot of over spray.

One other question. Did you leave, or do you use a vacuum breaker on the hookup?

DadD45-
Mine came with the original install on rig, however if you come to me at Home Depot, ask for a 1/2" chrome shut off valve for shower hose.

Mike,
No problem here with side spray. As far as install, just removed old shower head/hose and installed new one.

Best,

The ones that you get at Home Depot etc. are not positive shutoffs, they dribble. You can get positive shutoffs from places like:

http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/UsefulGadgets.htm

You can fake a positive shutoff the a T valve and a 1/2 cap. Kind of clumsy but very effective. This is what I have in the little motor home and it works just fine.

I found this important for two reasons.

1.) In my motor home when you turn the water back on with a dribbler, it goes VERY cold for about 5-10 seconds and then goes back to where you had it set.

2.) I don't want to waste the water and/or fill up my gray tank. I am always trying to extend my dry camping and two of us shower every day.

I have the Oxygenics in both motor homes and they are a hit.

No disrespect intended Bruceh, but for the record we do sell positive shutoff valves, but as you stated, they are also available from other suppliers.

Best,
Interesting! I bought one at Home Depot and it dribbled rather than being a positive shutoff so I took it back. Perhaps they have changed it the last couple of years. When I complained, I was told that it was some federal anti-scald mandate. I didn't inquire further.

I purchased the "positive shutoff valves" from 2 different suppliers and the both assure me that the would not dribble. They do! So I went to Home Depot and bought type shutoff valve. It was supposed to work. I've given up! Just let 'em leak

I guess I forgot how to edit these things. I meant a lever type shutoff valve

Mine don't leak. They do need to be replaced about every other year. These are the ones that you buy from places like:

http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/

I got mine at an RV rally.

I buy them 4 at a time and keep spares, they cost about $5.

The one that I mickeymoused from a T has been working perfectly for four years. This set me back about $7.

The problem can be solved.

I thought I got it to shut off a few times with the twist know...

I also want to give everyone an update. I have been using this for 2 months now and I still love it!! I can also tell you that the amount of water it does save is amazing. I have been in the rig now for 2 weeks without sewer so I have been conserving on my water usage to an extent. I was in the same situation earlier this year and would have to dump absolutely once a week and I would be maxed at holding tank capacity. This time I went 10 days before I dumped - but the tank was not completely full.
I can now vouch for the water savings that this shower head provides!
