I bought one and it came in a nice storage case. I took it out and used it once. I haven't been able to figure out how to get the hose collapsed and stay that way so I can get it back into the storage container. Anyone have any suggestions?

We have a Polychute and I love it. It really does make dumping easier. Getting it back into the container is a problem. What I've been doing is leaving the valve end open while coiling it into the container and then closing the valve once it is in. The valve and the end cap are so tight that air can't get out. If you seal it before coiling it the air can't get out and the hose is too big.

You're very trusting Puttin. I've had the spongy "donut" push out under the force during dumping. Fortunately it was the grey tank and not the stinker. Now I have the misses put her little foot down on the terminal end during all dumping, thus no more problems. If you trust the little neoprene "donut" to hold under that thrust then you are about to be surprised and embarrassed. Anyone else have the thrust out problem? Happy dumping.

Just how much trouble is it to screw the adapter in anyhow? I have one similar to this and it has never popped off.

I have had one like this for 20 years I'm on second hose cut the first
one up for short runs when it started leaking think I got 50 bucks invested
so far, would never have the DW hold that hose from poping out thats
what duct tape is for, alway put some around end to hold it to the sewer

I has come out before but not often. Once you really seat it in there- it's usually good. If you really want security- just pull the donut off- it's got the threaded adapter underneath.

I tried to compress the Polychute hose to fit it back into the storage container. I tried against a wall, with boxes, and other contortions. It still won't fold up. It takes up too much space.
I use a Sewer Solution. It doesn't take up much space and does a good job. I think I'll keep the Polychute in storage and stay with the Sewer Solution.

Your polychute must be different then mine. My adaptor is not threaded. It is grooved to make the donut snug. You must have a different model than mine. Also, the coil on the exterior is not metal, it is plastic and after a few days in the sun, it will not return to its original compact size for storage. You have to fight with it to get it back into the storage bin (available anywhere storage containers are found for 3 bucks by the way) even with the valve open and the end caps off. I'm sending mine back. If you want a clean and more practical hose stick with the rhino and save yourself $150 and much grief. imho

I use two of these. You don't need the connector piece. With some effort, two can be screwed together for a leak-proof connection. And don't believe the advertised length. That is the maximum it can be stretched to on a hot day after leaving it out in the sun for a while. When I stretch mine out, it is over a 18"x24' piece of carpet remnant. So far, it has lasted 11 years.

Sorry you guys don't like the Polychute, I've been really happy with mine for almost 2 years and all the others gave me grief. At least we've all found something that works- that's the main thing, right?

I forgot to mention...I also have a "Stowaway.com" storage box that connects to my reciever in back, so- I put both sections of the hose back there and so it takes no room in the baggage compartments. I used this with my old sewer set up too, and it really saves your back!
