We have worn out the buttons on two Nu Waves. I recently tossed one and replaced it. Having two is great but not used very often. They keep the heat down in the RV and there is far less condensation and no hot burner when you turn them off.
They can be placed almost anywhere so they really add flexibility to the kitchen space.

We will be the third In this thread to use the Duxtop induction cooktop. After a lot of research we purchased Mdl. 9600LS it has the following features:
20 power levels (200-1800W)
20 temp. Settings
Temp. Range 100*- 460*
Ele. Overheating protection
Size 11.4x14x2.5
Best thing about induction cooking you can cover the cooktop with a piece of newspaper opened full size, cook bacon, and not have a single drop of grease on anything but the newspaper.

Mmmmm, Bacon!!!! But my wife is asking, wouldn't the newspaper get burnt from the heat off the bottom of the skillet?

"...I bought a True Induction double hob unit for the MH." That was my thinking also.
But what is the electrical requirements of the Induction unit as compared to that of an electric frying pan typically used in outdoor (or indoor cooking)? Please remember that I'm a TOTAL non-tech. So answer in simple laymen's terms.
Also, what was your cost to install in your MH?
Thanks

Nope... it gets warm but we're cooking bacon at approximately 100° below the flashpoint of the paper.
Others in this thread said that they used paper towel and also a towel between the pan and the cooktop with no adverse problems .

No doubt we all love our bacon but have you tried the pre-cooked kind? Throw it on a plate between paper towels, zap it in the microwave for 1:30 minutes. Combine with the fresh tomatoes from the desert farmer's market and some sourdough bread, mayo and lettuce. Wow! Zero clean up and pretty darn good looking bacon.

Thanks for all your input. Went with a Nuwave w/pan for $35 on Ebay. (Like the small size for storage) After reading many reviews, I felt that there are about 5 brands of varying costs that are good. But in the end, when its all said and done.... its a "throw away" item anyway.

NuWave for a couple of years...stayed in the box until a couple of months ago. Main reason was we didn't have a pan for it. She acquired one for Christmas this year...so we tried it and works really well. She was talking about bring the second one with us too. We shall see.

A little scientific explanation on induction....
The reason the burner does not get hot, is because the induction actually uses magnetism to cook. That is the reason you need pans that are magnetic.
The cooktop switches between + and - magnetic polarity thousands of times per second. This switching excited the molecules in the foods and excited molecules get hot; therefore, your food cooks . . .
This technology has been around for some time....large foundries use induction furnaces to melt steel prior to pouring. Melting is faster and more fuel efficient than any other method.
Your science lesson for the day . . . . .
