I can see the size of the knot on you noggin from here Jim. I bet that thump was about a 7.0 on the Richter scale.

There are several competing products.. Protect-All, Dri Wash & Guard (At least I think that's how they spell dry) and RV-Solution

All ware cleaner/waxes, all are the same wax (Carnuaba ?) same as Turtle Wax or Hot Wax at the car wash .

Fact is, when it comes to waxing cars.. that's about the best wax (so I'm not putting it down at all)

Somewhat different cleaners and binders and such... I won't compare one to the other.. I've used two of them and been happy with both.

The best product to protect you RV is the one that someone else applies!

I use it all the time. Have been for a couple of years. A bit pricey but a good product. Then a friend told me to mix 8 oz.s of ProtecAll, 2 teaspoons of Dawn dish detergent and 1 quart of water and it makes a great "Dri" wash. Carry it in a spay bottle and hit the front of the coach at almost every stop. The bugs wipe right off.

A lot of body shops use dawn to remove all existing waxes before they paint. I would be reluctant to mix it with a wax.

Mike,
Thanks. I did some research and the Dawn web site faq page states not to use it for washing autos. There have been a lot of posts on other forums on how good it was for washing. Go figure.

I've used Protectall since 2004. A gallon lasts a long time.

Oh no....I thought this stuff was a wax. Now it sounds as if Judy should have washed the mh with it rather than wax on wax off. The stuff I bought instructed me to instruct her to spray a small area and then she was to wipe it off immediately. I sure hope I didn't have her waste her time.

Protectal makes a number of products. Wax and a RV wash are two of them.

I use Mcquires. I use the wash about once a month & the wash/wax about every 6 months. The Mcquires wash/wax does require it to dry to a haze and then wipe off. So far the DW has done a fine job. Black streaks and bugs come right off every time she does it.

You might want to check out a product called LIQUID GLASS. Instead of me telling you why to use it, go to amazon.com and read the reviews. Joe

Your DW does the washing and waxing eh! I believe that just as I believe Elkhartjim has his mate wax his rig. . Been married too long , know these things don't happen!! Maguires does make a good product though.

Dieselclacker, The closest I can get the DW to do this is have her come out & look how good it looks. LOL On the other hand she is a great lady & she would help me any time I truly needed it. She has helped me restore my cars, getting into the dirt & grime if needed.
