Hello,

I am a new motorhome ownwer and have been looking at tire monitoring systems. Is anyone familiar with or had experience with the SAF-TEE Corp System

http://www.truckerspartstore.com/category-s/33.htm

It seems to be less expensive tand Doran or Pressure Pro and also monitors tire temp.

Thanks...............WALT

Hi Walt888
I don't like to put any product down that I have not tryed. In my 40 yeays of truck driving and motorhome ownership tire companies always told me to never put anything but a cap no the end of a rubber valae stem and brass stems can have the same problem. (Motorhome)just had some info in it's techsavvy section the Feb issue on this subject. I would sure like to try them but i don't want to be down on the road with a broken valve stem. Andy

There are a lot of us out here that use the PP system, many for a number of years and a lot of miles. Broken valve stems don't appear to have been a problem.

I have the sensors on both the motor home and the towed car. The valve stems on the toad are rubber and although PP recommends that the rubber ones be changed out for metal, I haven't done that yet - but will when I get a chance.

Technology advances again. Monitoring pressure and temperature, is the next logical step in these products. Wife just gave me a choice, a new laptop or this 10 unit Saf-Tee monitor.

Hello,

Just talked to Truckers Parts Store and Saf-TT Corp. They are coming out with an updated chip set and longer warranty...and will be at the Pomona FMCA convention. I will be there and talk to them. Will update here with what I find out.

Will these work OK on flexible dually valve extenders? Or just solid brass?

I emailed truckerspart about this but no reply. Do you think the weight of the sensor will flex and damage the braided flex extenders?

And this system sure looks like the PP units. They claim to have 500-1000 units out there on trucks. I will check them out in Pomona and compare the size and weight to PP myself. Will let you know what I think.

Just weighed a motorhome with a set on. Looked very impressive and he said they appear to work fine. he liked the fact that he was able to monitor temperatures along with pressures.

I ordered those when they were first offered. After 3 or 4 months of broken promises and being given the "runaround", I asked for my money back. finally ended up having the CC company get it for me. The owner also sent emails out to customers saying that he wouldn't sell to RV'ers anymore because we are all whiners. Refering to people becoming irritated after waiting for so long----and having their credit card charged immediatly after ordering.
As for me, I wouldn't order anything from them!
