I know it may be an "apples & oranges" question, but I'm interested in doing something other than the old 3" sewer hose. Plus, I have one place where I need to "go uphill."
My questions are: is the "water power" of a sewer solution adequate versus the macerator pump on the Sani-con type unit? Is the macerator pump type worth $400 more?
Any recommendations based on your use will be appreciated.

I just found and ordered the Clean Dump system (on line) for $322 with free shipping.

I think the RV Sani Con system is worth the money in the long run.

Thanks! Clean Dump looks like the Sani-Con but cost LOTS less. It also looks more substantial at the dump end (larger ID hose and valve.) Did you do the install yourself? I'd love to see some photos at the coach end of the installation. The web site was pretty lame in terms of details, and did not have a photo of the coach part of the unit. I'm just interested in how the macerator attaches, etc.

The Clean Dump is supposed to arrive Monday and I plan on doing the installation as soon as it arrives. I have an electrician friend that will do the wiring for me just to be safe. I plan on taking pictures of the installation.
I saw the SaniCon and the Clean Dump side by side and I liked the bigger hose on the Clean Dump. Finding it on sale clinched it for me.

I tried the Sewer Solution, and it clogged the first time I used it. Very messy to recover from. Now I use a 12v portable macerator. Just twists onto the dump port, around $200 on sale at Camping World.

I've used the Sewer Solution for three years --- it has never clogged.

I have used the sewer solution since 2000 and have never had a problem with clogging. Make sure you have plenty of water pressure, especially if trying to go longer distances or if going uphill and also make sure you use toilet tissue that you know will break down quickly.
I think Sewer Solution claims you can go up to 100' on level ground using 1" plastic pipe with a minimum of 25 psi water pressure, but I think that would be very slow. I have gone 50' and about 1' uphill using a combination of 1" pipe and the flexible hose that comes with the Sewer Solution with no problems. Water pressure was 40 psi.
There is no substitute for a good macerator pump such as the Sani-Con, especially if you need to go long distances and/or uphill. However, at a cost of less than a third of a Sani-Con, the Sewer Solution works fine for me.

I have used Sewer Solution for 2 yrs ...never with the water connected and it still only clogged ONCE!! Would be zero if I connected the water jet..just not necessary, except that one time...and we only use single sheet paper that breaks apart fast...

Sewer Solution has worked perfectly for us. So much easier to coil, store and travel with than the monster hose.

If you need bigger pictures let me know and I will send them to you. It really was an easy install.

Wayne- thanks for the offer. The ones originally posted were quite small for my 65 year old eyes! I logged on later and saw them in the Photo section of iRV2.com and they were much more usable. Thanks!
