Does anyone have the new Shurflo Comfort Air Fan Platinum? This is the one with the remote control, variable speed, rain sensor, etc.

I'm trying to make up my mind on which fan to get, the Shurflo, or the Fantastic. I like the idea of the full variable speed compared to set speeds offered by the Fantastic. Also like the idea of being able to run the fan while the top is closed mimiking a ceiling fan.

We have the ShurFlow Platinum in the kitchen/living room areas and like it. Using the fan, on low and directing the air downward with the vent lid closed, circulates the air when we are using electric space heaters. The remote is handy in that my wife can't reach the controls.... No problems except that we dropped the remote and it took a while to reprogram, but that's just us. Very quiet, not recommended for the toilet area!

We have the Shurflo Platinum fan installed in the bedroom/shower area of our Cougar 5th wheel. I installed the fan myself without any problems and we are very satisfied with the performance so far!

We have used it in both exhaust and intake modes as well as using it with the lid closed and it has worked flawlessly.

JFB,

why would you NOT recommended it for the toilet area. I am planning on stalling the model w/o the remote control in the commode room.

We purchased a Silver edition & also a Gold edition. The silver will go in our living area
& the gold will go in our bedroom.

We heard good things about because our friends have them!

Well I bought one and my wife and I love it. We got the Platinum because of the remote control.

My wife is not tall and with all the new motorhomes (including ours) with the seven foot tall ceilings I can't believe the manufacturers don't put these in as standard features.

In any case it works great. After making sure it works out okay we'll order a second one for the front area vent.

One question about this though, Shurflo says to not put one in a location that will place it within a 45 degree space area above a kitchen stove. I'm assuming this is because of sucking in air rather then exhausting it out, or is it something to do with grease vapor messing up the mechanism. Is this what anyone else thinks or am I missing the point? Shurflo doesn't say why they make this statement.
