Slide Topper Help Needed

I have a 40 ft Monaco with a Carefree SOK III Slide Topper on the full wall slide that has lost its tension. I had the fabric replaced about a year ago so the fabric is not the problem. I noticed that the larger screw on the cover in the middle on the left side ( from the ground) that is used to remove the roller was loose. Removed the top covers and have tried to tighten the screw that holds the roller on but it will not go in or out. It is like it is stripped with no way to tighten or loosen it. I am wondering if this means the spring is broken? There is a hole in the roller on the same side as the screw needing tightening but no way to put a carter pin through but have been able to do it on the opposite (right) side to lock the tensioner in place. I have tried to check the tension with the slide out and there is only a small amount of tension on it when manually turning it out slightly by hand. Any help appreciated.

Problem Solved

I had to drill out the rivets in the left hand cap to get the roller separated from the roller bearing. There is a nut on the back of the bearing that is supposed to remain stationary but was just spinning. Next task is to cut the screw off the end cap and replace the roller bearing. Spring was ok but badly worn so replacing that at the same time. Total parts cost from Carefree was $160 because decided to go ahead and replace the end caps. The roller screw that was broken slipped enough to allow the spring to loose tension.
