My wife purchased a Soda-Club home soda maker for me for father's day. I had wanted one for a while, and was curious if it would be a convenient addition to our RV. We just returned from vacation, and I was able to put the device to the test. I give it a big thumbs up! It was easy to use, makes delicious flavors, and eliminates the packing of heavy cans and bottles of soda. Their cola is not a good as Coke, and their root beer wasn't as tasty os Barq's, but overall, the flavors that they supply are very good, and they do have a lot of them. The company appears to be endorsed by several RV organizations, including the RVIA & FMCA.

Here is a link to their web site if you'd like to read up on it: http://www.sodaclubusa.com/rv_boat_camp.htm

Looks like an interesting product. I imagine it would be handy for someone who has to watch their diet and control the ingrediants in their drinks.

My wife bought the system and I'll tell you the biggest advantage for us is NOT having to buy, haul and store 2 liter plastic soda bottles any more! Steve

I have been with Soda Club for several years now. I mostly drink just carbonated water. Sometimes I make it into what I call "Blue Bull" my recipe for an energy drink.

When I do flavor itI do not use Soda Club's flavorings, there are much cheaper places for the concentrates. And I don't use sugar at all. I use about 2 cc. of Stevia per bottle.

I order three CO2 replacement cylinders at a time and they seem to get them to my location everytime.

I have been kind of curious about this product.

Question: How long does the liguid stay "drinkable" (fizzy) after being created, when using thier storage container? I know what they claim, but what is the true time.

Do you use any other types of containers to store as well?

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

It all depends on how fizzy you make it. It will last as long as any other plastic bottled soda. I like my soda extra fizzy, so I give it an extra shot of carbonation. This also seems to make it last longer.

I store mine in the bottles provided by Soda Club, but I don't see why you couldn't place some in a used 2 litre bottle. The bottles that they provide are thicker, due to the pressure exerted during the carbonation process.

Like with any soda however, once there is more air than soda in the bottle, the carbonation starts to weaken.

Craig: My recipe is sort of a secret. I would suggest you buy a can of one of the "energy drinks" and duplicate what the ingeredients are if you like the effect of the drink.

I would suggest certain Amino acids and vitamins. There are other things 'medical ingredients' you might want to add; nothing illegal.

We have one and love it. We use it at home and on the road. No more flat soda water. We tried pouring it off into other bottles, and the results were not satisfactory. Either the thinner plastic let fizz out or some fizz was lost in pouring. So we bought extra bottles from them.
