SYGIC

I cannot set the flammable gas avoidance in the RV menu. Also there is no Tunnel avoidance that I can find. In addition where do I find the POI list?

Thanks,
Pete

I actually did a test and SYGIC routed me on a Parkway (Passenger Cars Only) and then thru a tunnel (Propane Restriction). Am I doing something wrong in the settings? I have the settings as an RV and have entered all length, width and height restrictions.

SYGIC Trucker set to RV. There is a trial version. In the RV mode you cannot activate the Gas restriction. I emailed them and am awaiting a response. Right now I am using Co-Pilot.

It also routed me onto a Parkway which is restricted to Passenger Cars Only.

The RV version doesn't do propane restricted tunnels. The truck version in RV routing mode doesn't either. You have to use the truck version in truck mode. I think it's an issue with European software developers not understanding the US market.

Not sure if this was directed to me and if you were asking about CoPilot. If so, here's my extensive experience with the product for you to decide for yourself: https://jkcarp.blogspot.com/2016/07/...st-of.html?m=1

Excellent break down of the app. You are very talented at simplifying a complicated issue.

Can you please advise how I add POIs.

Great Work
Pete

I have tested CoPilot, but not paid for any of the upgrades. I read your blog post with some interest, and noted that you seemed to think that its use of OpenStreetMap was an advantage. I have found, so far, that OpenStreetMap has the worst maps of all of the products I have used. FWIW, interesting article here, from an insider.

Sygic, which also relies on OpenStreetMap, can't be any better.

I use a combination of Garmin, Apple Maps, and Google Maps. I think that Google has the most detailed data set, and Garmin has the best combination of RV-specific features and user interface.

It's my understanding that Sygic uses the same map program that Garmin uses? I will contact the company directly for input on report findings.

I'm confused on what you read in my blog post. CoPilot doesn't use Open Street Maps. I think they should use it but that is not what they do that today.

Sygic doesn't use OSM either in their RV and truck products. They use HERE maps.
