Did you ever see a commercial or advertisement for a product and thought the advertisement couldn't be true? Normally I'm a toolaholic, meaning I have just about every tool imaginable, but I never owned a pair of multi-purpose cutting sheers as I thought that they couldn't be as good as advertised.

I just tried out a pair of the Ronan Multi-Cutter and was amazed at how well the tool works. When I bought my super steer motion control units, it was actually suggested to me that I try the cutter as I needed to cut the air suspension hoses on the motorhome clean and square. I know from experience how hard it is to cut a high pressure air line straight so I went ahead and got a pair to try.

Amazing!!!

Normally I cut through air lines or water tubing with a utility knife and it's a struggle to cut straight. Especially if the hose is difficult to reach or hold with two hands, cutting with a knife is inaccurate and dangerous. With these shears, one snip and the line was cut perfectly straight and smooth.

These shears use a blade similar to a utility knife, but since it squeezes against a flat anvil surface, it cuts super easily. Since the cutters are worked with one hand, I was able to cut my air lines even though I couldn't reach the air line to hold it securely.

Below is a photograph of the cutters and I inset another picture of a piece of air line cut from my air suspension lines. I easily cut small rings of the air line about 1/8 of an inch thick in one swift cut. Try that with a utility knife.

After installing my motion control units. I tried the cutter out on a tree limb, a junk water hose, and finally cut through a piece of 50 amp power cord. In the past, I've always hacked through heavy gauge copper with a hacksaw or heavy cutters cutting one of the conductors at a time. These cutters cut right through the copper wire easily.

Although I'm now carrying the cutters in the motorhome toolbox, I think they'll be used plenty of times around the house as well. Another feature worth mentioning is the fact that spare blades are included stored inside the handle of the cutter so you'll always have them handy.

It's definitely an item to add to the toolbox.

Joe, they look strangely familiar to something Sears sells or used to sell...

Craftsman has a tool just like that. Have used it for years. Makes a nice cut. I think it costs more then $15 Buck. RV Upgrades has a great price.
