I am thinking of adding a water softner to the RV for those places with bad hard water.
There is the Camping World unit which looks good and there is the Waterstick unit which interest me also and has a nice price advantage too and is simpler to regenerate.
http://www.watersticks.com/rv.htm
Is anybody using these? any opinions on them?
Thanks
John

I may get in trouble for this, but seeing your post was coincidental. I recently removed a softner unit from my coach, (need more room) and will try something else. Seeing that you have a 5th wheel, probably with more room and thus the possibility of a permanent install, this unit would work great. It did the job for me. Works the same as a home unit with brine and salt tank only very compact. If interested, let me know via e-mail. I was going to put it on e-bay, but will probably let it go "for a song and a dance". charlesnnancy@juno.com

Any particular song-and-dance or do you have something specific in mind? (I've been on this thing waaay too long... time for a break!)

Don't really know if we should go there!!! Do appreciate your assumed humor.
Thought it would probably be good to put in a description of the unit. The following site will show you (Model 612):
