I didn't see anyone mention this so I will...if your antenna is a Winguard that cranks up, you need to do that also. There are free apps that will locate local stations and indicate the direction and distance so you can rotate your antenna for best reception. Just remember to crank it back down!

Finally had my appointment with the dealer to explain the operation of the TV. They took unit in the back & after about 45 min. found the antenna wire is bad & needs replacing. Said was covered on warranty waiting on an approval.

Mike - glad you found the root problem, but you will still need to use the button (just in case they didn't tell you that): Push it in when you are using the roof antennae and NOT on cable - you should see a green led in that little circle next to the button. Make sure your tv is set to air and do a channel search to get local over the air channels. When connected to cable, push the button again to turn off (the led should go out). Set the tv to cable and do a channel search to find the cable channels. You'll have to go through this once each time you set up at a campsite/location, and do the set up/programming step on each tv.

I hope that helps!

Thanks I totally understand this.

cable goes from the connection on the plate to the tv .. Antenna in connection. That is.
If you are plugging in cable tv it goes to the connector outside ...probably where the other hookups are then turn off the power on the amp switch .. Light off .. And your cable tv from the park it "may "work .. assuming Correct type tv right type signal and the cables aren't shorted out.

22V TV???

Why didn't you tell them to replace the cable, that only costs a few bucks, and they can do all their waiting after you leave?

Being the "hillbilly" or "redneck" that I've been accused of being, I couldn't understand this exact setup on my 1992 MH. It had a small TV installed, but wasn't big enough for my taste. Brought a 35 inch flat screen in from the house, mounted it, and ran the coax in all configurations with the antenna extended, green light on / off, made no difference, I had ZERO reception in antenna mode. Remove winegard antenna, bought a motorized digital antenna and placed it onto the antenna arm. Still no reception, and red light on new antenna won't illuminate. Can't reach coax connection from the inside, so and ran separate coax from roof to TV. I can now pick up sometimes several channels, but other times struggle to get just one. Suspect bad original coax.
My questions are, if I replace original coax, reinstall the original winegard antenna, and get everything wired right, would it pick up better than the digital antenna? Is the winegard antenna digital or analog? Sux that I can't reach connection to antenna inside!

There is no such thing as a digital TV antenna. The word digital is used to encourage people to throw away their current antenna and buy another one.

It is very likely that the Winegard will out perform whatever you have now.

Finally TV is fixed. After being told we had to run a complete new antenna cable 200$ estimate.
Went & got a second opinion. Come to find out the barrel just under the roof was not tight & the fitting on top of the antenna was bad. Simple 5$ fix & all is good to go.
