Wireless Backup Camera Recommendations
Looking for a reliable backup/observations system for our 27' towed trailer (45'-50' from back of trailer to dash of truck). Need something that will last and will transmit continuous signal at highway speeds. Thanks for the help

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
No experience with wireless cameras but there have been many discussions here about them. I'm sure you will get many suggestions.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Is your unit pre-wired for a camera system? We use a Furrion observation camera system on our toy hauler.
Currently we just have a rear camera but we are considering this new one;
Furrion Vision S 7 Inch, 3 Camera Wireless RV Backup System with Infrared

No our Outdoorsrv Blackstone is not pre-wired so we'll need to connect power to running lights

i'm also looking at backup cameras for my toy hauler. i'd like a solution that doesnt require a dedicated monitor; something that connects to my mobile device instead?

It looks similar to all the other systems on Amazon many of which have a lot of conflicting information. Why did you choose this particular one? What about customer service? How long have you had it and does it work well at highway speed? Final question - how long is your rig/distance from back of rig to truck dash?
Thanks for the input

I used this one for my ORV, I like it as its wireless, and the monitor doesn't need to be permanently mounted. I have only used it a few times as I bought it in September last year, but I have been happy with it.

We got the Furrion rear observation because I had talked to several individuals who used it and all liked it. Customer recommendations carry allot of influence, especially if you know the customers for a time. Customer service I have not had any issues with it since we bought, so not sure how they would do on the camera systems, but on other Furrion products they have treated us very good. Highway speeds? No issues with it. We have been using it over 2 1/2 years now with no issues. Length of rig from back end to dash, not sure but our toy hauler is 45 foot. So figure with the size of a crew cab Dodge Ram 3500 probably over 58 feet long.
But we are considering getting the new system with the cameras in the turning lights for the front of the RV. Just the rear camera, 2 turn light cameras and 7 inch monitor around $850.
My recommendation is do your research, talk to people who use the one you are interested in before you buy. When at a campground and you see one on a RV ask the person how they like it and if they would BUY IT AGAIN

We had good luck with RV Cams: Backup Camera Systems (All)
Wireless is iffy due to length and occasional interference. You might think about a wired setup. Ask for Tim.

montanaboy.......we had a wired system that went bad. Replaced with another wired system. About 2 hours of local handyman time to do it.

Backup/Observation Camera
Think we're going to go with the Furrion Vision S 7" wireless system. It's quite a bit more than all the systems made in China but I think the quality and performance will justify the extra expense.
Thanks to everyone for their input and Happy Travels
