12V TV's with adjustable backlighting ?

So I installed a NAXA 22" TV/DVD combo for my Maiden Voyage last week and am not overly thrilled. Yeah knew the sound would stink but the picture is crap !
Poor viewing angles but the most annoying is the washed picture. With the lights off I turned the Contrast and Brightness down to almost zero and the image was of course un-viewable. As a bonus the strong LED back lighting filled the cabin with glowing light and LED TV's have no bacl-light adjustment.
Been searching for a 12v TV/DVD with a LCD screen but not much luck. Anyone have better luck with other brands/models ? Most of these units seem to be the same rigs as the menus are identical (Looked at dozens so far).

Seems like my old ProScan was much more kind on the eyes.

Perhaps I will need to go the inverter route to get a decent dark screen and viewing angle. This NAXA feel like I'm being irradiated haha !

TIA,

I vote for a small inverter and a 120V TV. The selection and quality are both much better.

The Samsung I bought last week does have an adjustable backlight, FWIW.
