Many of us bought the Mobley and then a 110v adapter so we could plug it in anywhere.

It appears that Netgear has a modem/router setup but you need to move your $20 plan-associated sim card to the Netgear device. I am not sure if you can remove the sim card from the connected car plan they offer now (which looks like it is only $10/month for existing customers).

$20 Unlimited Data with ZTE Mobley Device

The Mobley sim can be moved but the question is not can it be done but does it violate att terms of service as it’s a device not connected to the car as it was presented / intended to be . my mobley sim is in a netgear unite after my mobley died and it works much better than the basic Mobley device. I am taking a risk att will call my bluff
The car plans that remain ( on Star etc) can not be moved from the car ( no accessible sim I guess) and are tied to the car being on and the reason att still offers the plan , as it’s difficult if not almost impossible to use it 24/7.
I have the onstar $ 20 no additional fee unlimited in my 17 volt and use it as a backup to other plans It’s and electric car and can be “on” a long time if needed. There is no way to remove the sim from the onstar system. If you need internet you need to have several options in your toolbox not just one

Tom, can you get the Mobley Device from ATT or do you have to get it from Ebay. I have a Direct Tv account and so am now an ATT user.

Just got off the phone with the 'connected car' team. They said they are out of Mobley ZTE devices (again, this is third time according to him) and I could order one from somewhere else and still get it activated.

He did say I couldn't have it be standalone for $20/mo but would need to have a cell phone plan with them as well... maybe that has changed?

The $20 connected car plan stopped being offered last year sometime. The offering started in February and I think ended in July.

Throttling??

Is there a way that I can tell if I am being throttled back beside the obvious slow speed? I have watched a few 4k shows early this week and now I cannot even get SD. I am in the same location and the mobley is in the same location. I have rebooted it several times. I even checked at 4 AM this morning.

I think I have heard of one person that was slowed down in a major city. Do a speed test I would think would be the the best indicator.

Probably something totally unrelated.......Maybe doing a massive download for an update automatically??

Stream Saver Setting

I found this setting on the AT&T website that was on. It slows the speed down to 480i to allow more videos to stream. I turned it off and I was able to stream at UHD again.
