Open signal app is what I use as well. To the extent possible I try to get a direct line for the Mobley to work best or strongest signal.

Well, then I don’t know what you can do to find an ATT cell tower, except look around. Maybe there’s one within eyesight. [emoji102]

You might try this on your laptop. It will show various cell phone towers on a map, etc. Plug in the zipcode for your location and also select which carrier towers you want it to map.

Those with the Netgear 815S - does it require periodic reboots? It allows 15 connections vs 5 for the Mobley. I'm tempted to try it if it solved the data connection problem.
I have the Netgear 815S. No reboot needed. Works great. Bought used from eBay for about $35 landed iirc.

Mine has been running for months without a reboot. Mine is connected to a Tenda clone of the Asus 66RRU running Tomato firmware.

Has anyone tried the transfer of accounts method? I'm sure there are other people not using their mobley and would like to sell with the plan. Dallasmobile seller didn't seem to open to trying it with AT&T. Not sure anyone would buy one without being certain the plan is transferable.

I think you're on to something. At home and most places I've visited the Mobley works great. I just got back from a week at Myrtle Beach and it was horrible. 2nd day there I had no connection so I reset the Mobley. It never worked well after that. I would have speeds of 351 KBPS download, but awesome speeds of 17.4 MBPS up. Somedays the download was worse. Could have been the load on the towers. It was a little frustrating and I ended up turning off WIFi on my phone.

Also, just got my latest bill and it's now $23.24, up from $22.51. I wonder if AT&T is trying to keep raising the price until it's no longer a good deal.

We had major Mobley problems when we pulled into our winter campground. We had used ATT here before without an problems. Discovered the antennae were being worked on and after all the work was finished everything was fine again. I rarely need to reboot my Mobley.

Take a look at the detail of your bill. Here's the breakdown of my bill:

Unlimited Data - $20.00
Admin Fee - 1.26
Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge - 1.25
Total - 22.51

Which of the above numbers are different on your bill?

I just got the second increase in about a year since I purchased my Mobley. New figures are Data $20.00, Admin fee $1.99, Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge $1.25, Total $23.24, up from $22.01 initially.

AT&T rep told me this week that he can not re-activate my older Mobley under ANY plan. He stated it had to do withe the China/ZTE spying/security issue the feds allegedly found in some other ZTE modems.

I THINK he was serious.... I didn't press him.

He said AT&T was developing a new modem for cars - but with no production date announced.

Are you saying you cancelled your mobley plan in the recent past?

My bill is now exactly the same as yours. My second increase as well.
