2008 Newmar - Sound & AV Upgrade from Sony

I am purchasing a 2008 Kountry Star that has the Sony system in it.

Has anyone on here done an upgrade from that? I am curious for:

1 - any information on how its set up in general with the Wineguard Model VS-0604/6412 Amplified Video Distribution System. Still learning about what this thing does from The Google

2 - If anyone has any suggestions on speaker upgrades. As you likely know they are mounted in the ceiling.

I upgraded our TV when the OE died. 40" Samsung sits in front of the cabinet covering the opening. Next added Samsung soundbar above TV. Industrial Velcro . wanted to put below TV but needed access to control switch on TV which is on bottom right. Ran sat dish through DVR to TV. Our winegard distribution box is analogue. Coax cable only. I can still use it for camp cable and antenna for the other 2 TVs. I'm hoping to gut the whole system and run a HDMI box as all TVs are now digital. I'm guessing there's lots of wire to pull though.

2001 MADP AV Upgrade

I trashed my original Sony system as the technology was way old. Also, I installed a 5.1 speaker system as the built-in RV speakers were junk.

I used the Marantz NR1603 AV receiver (I'd now recommend the NR1508) as the "heart" of my AV system. The Marantz NR AV receivers are a great choice for RVs because they aren't very tall and can fit into RV cabinets.

A modern AV receiver links both great sound (5.1 and up) and great video (via HDMI). So you can run your TV, satellite TV (DISH, DirecTV), Roku, AppleTV, Blu-Ray, etc through a single box.

My current RV AV system . . .

How was it running cable to the bedroom and basement TVs?

Awesome info and diagram. Something to aspire to. Im starting today with a base upgrade I think.

Anyone know what the “compass module” is that’s up in the cabinet? Black Box.

Also looking to upgrade my totally dead Jensen radio. I may just ditch the thing if this new Marantz unit can do everything...with better speakers (but it’s not 12v system). Any suggestions welcome.

Finally, anyone know if this pic is the Sat Radio antenna?

You have the Jensen radio? Mine is Sirius ready. I think that's the sat antenna.
