Allstays App vs Website

I'm considering subscribing but have a question for those of you who use Allstays. I'm wondering which is the better option: Purchasing the Allstays app for our iPad or subscribing to the "Pro" access on Allstay's website?

Seems like the major plus for purchasing the app is that it appears to download some information so that you have access to that information when you don't have an Internet connection. I'm leaning that way, but would be interested in any thoughts from those of you who have used both options.

I use the app for my iPad (I don't know if it is the pro-version or not...but I paid something for it, so it was probably the Pro version). I wasn't sure of what you said about the app downloading info when not on wifi or 4g, so I tested it. I first directed the app to a city in random while connected to the Internet . It pulled up the the usual info like CGs, Walmarts, etc. When connected to the wifi, you can get pics, and a direct link to the campgrounds.

Next, I turned off wifi access. I could still see a map of the town that I pulled up before, but could not see the images of campgrounds. Obviously, the direct link to a CG website doesn't work.

Next, I closed the app and reopened it (without the Wifi). The app opened to my home area. Not the random town that I selected before. So I would say that as long as you don't close the app, you will have limited access to a map (without Internet access). No detail.

I like and use the iPad app all of the time.

When we travel, I have our iPad Mini set up to provide "Moving Map" Weather Radar (allows us to be "proactive" to weather conditions in lieu of "reactive" to weather warnings!) Using the AllStays App, as we approach a campground area, I bring up the App and use it as a "let down" display into the campground (provides that "little bit of extra comfort" when navigating into a new campground!)

Is the moving map weather radar a separate app? That would be useful. I usually use weather underground.

Sent you a PM requesting your email address, I'll send you a presentation I have on how I set the system up on our coach.

We uase the Allstays Camp & RV app on android and IOS. For weather, we use the Intellicast app. If you set it for "current location", the app will move with you. Absolutely the best weather app in my opinion and free to boot.
