Hi Fellow Rv'ers. I posted a question regarding the analog antennas that many have as I do and I am not sure of the answers. My primary question is: 1) is it true that you can use the analog antenna providing you install a converter box between the antenna and the distribution box in the rv, 2) I would assume if this is true then broadcasts picked up by the antenna would be converted to digital for distribution through the overhead distribution center, 3) and someone offered that not all tv's are digital. The tv's that came in our '06 Monaco Knight converted over perfectly when the change over took place. Am I missing something. Love the forum, love the Monaco Knight, love trekking...........jim and karon

If you are using the existing antenna connected to your existing TV and you have a picture (not the recorded analog to digital picture that is on some stations). I would say you are probably good to go without a converter box. If your remote has "." or "-" in the number area, then you should be good. I have read that the converter box should not be connected to the (amplified) antenna cable before the distribution box.

Your old antenna does not care if the siganls are analog or digital. What has to happen is the digital signals are converted to a picture. If your TV has a digital tuner, you are good to go. If it does not have a digital tuner, you will need a converter box to change the signals to an analog format fro the older TVs

As one suggestion, read the "stickies" at the top of this forum.

Another is to do a search in this forum for converter boxes...you will find a library of info.
