Antenna Amp switch?

Is it ok to leave the Windgard Antenna Amp switch in the on position all the time?

This is a good question and the answer is not all that easy.

Some years ago Winegard made an antenna where the mast head amp had a problem.. ON THAT ONE you want to turn the switch off or you might get a visit from a federal agency.

HOWEVER.... It is very very doubtful that there are any of those left, And any newer one, you can leave it on if you like.

Can it be left on even if I'm hooked up to park cable? The reason I'm asking is because I'm going to mount it out of site, inside the TV cabinet, behind my TV, and it then will be hard to get to.

If your turn it on while hooked to park cable you will not get any reception over the park cable.
In order for park cable to work it's got to be off.
So you better install it where you can get to it.

Yes, as mentioned above the amp switch usually also selects whether the antenna signal or park cable signal appears on the jack, so take that into account.

OK, Thanks! I'll need to relocate it.

Moved it to the side of my Flat screen TV cabinet. Also added two HDMI outlets and two USB ports for charging cell phones
