We had a nice metal barn/garage built for the MH. Now and then we will sit in the MH and watch the news or work on the MH with the TV on. Can you see the problem coming? Of the 15-17 local stations we get 2! Their antennas sit on a hill @ 10 miles away!
We're in the process of installing an exterior antenna and plugging it into the MH but where to plug it in??? The input "plugs" are labeled Sat & Cable. Wonder which would be the best? Would also need to set the TV amplifier box to the chosen system??
Ideas?

It kind of depends on how your TV/Cable/Sat systems are wired. That may be different on every brand rig. On mine, I could run it into the cable input. But, the RV roof antenna amplifier should stay turned off. It will only interfere with the external signal. Most likely though, you could put the external antenna on the cable input and 'pretend' you are watching cable.

You will have to experiment to see how to get it to work as you want. Maybe you could find an external antenna and temporarily hook it up to see how it will work.

As suggested we hooked the barn roof top antenna to the cable input jack on the MH and told the amplifier box to amplify and send the cable input signal to both TV's (living/bedroom). Now have 14 channels on each lcd tv!!!!

You use the park cable input of course, Unless you've re-tasked that for Sat TV, in which case you re-task it back and install a dedicated RG-6 cable for satellite use, which you should have done in the first place.

You may wish to put some amplification in line, Radio Shack, among others, sell very nice in-line amplifiers that will work fine for that, it goes in the "Garage" before the RV.. Or even a mast-head unit, install the power supply in the garage outside the RV.

Thanks Max....... It was climbing up 15' on a ladder that caused the most concern but then my able bodied assistant was on the ground with phone in hand..
