I’ve tried at various times and old Batwing, a new Batwing with the Wingman attachment, a king Jack, and the latest and greatest Winegard Automatic Rayzar, and that flat one Winegard sold for a while. The automatic is probably the easiest to use as a replacement as there are no holes needed through the roof, just access to the old coax and some mounting holes. You do have to replace or add the power module which you would need to do anyway.

I have found that of those listed the Batwing is still the better of the lot for overall performance in distant areas. They all will pick up stations that are timely local. Heck a wire strung between two trees with get service in some areas.

Many people when replacing an antenna also clean and tighten all connections which may in fact have been the problem in the first place.
