Wife and I both have them for about 6/8 weeks now. We would never go back to flip phones again. Beside all the apps available, we use them for computer wifi when not available while traveling. Verizon coverage fits our needs well. Bought phones from Amazon wireless and saved several hundred dollars.

I do--

Got the "Global" Motorola version back in December.

In my humble opinion (IMHO)-

Pros- It's a computer. The "Weather Bug" app I put on it paid for the whole unit during the recent Tornados that tore up the south. We watched them passing just to the South and North of us (by 15 miles in both directions). This was in the Raleigh, NC area.
We can check emails all the time. I'm not sure I need this much internet access (I'm retard-- I mean "retired"). The Googal map GPS feature is absolutely fantastic. Just type in Walmart, or whatever, and there you are-, address, phone number, etc. Closest to you comes up first.

Cons- Battery life is poor. My wifes cell phone can go for days with full strength power. My Droid X battery dies in one day.
I find it extremely hard to answer a call. Sometimes you must slide your finger across the screen, other times you just touch it.
For some reason Verizon can't answer, we only get three rings before the call goes to voice mail. I have a hard time answering calls promptly. My wife can't answer it at all-. Verizon says I can get more rings if I turn the voice mail feature off- I don't do that.

I'm an amateur with this whole world of internet operations.

Max, don.t know what the Global Motorola is but with our X's we get 6 rings before going to voice mail and about 2 to 2 1/2 days without charging. If we turn off wifi and gps we can get almost 3 1/2 days battery life. Spent a lot of time playing in settings and still are. Don't know if this will help your batt life though.

Yup...and we love it. I got so happy about the change I even dedicated a whole blog post to it (search in my blog if you're interested). The phone has kept us in track, made us money and helped with our data usage.

Did I mention I love it?

I have a droid x also, and yes I sorta hate the thing. I do like it for the net tho. Try an app called Advanced task killer (you can find it with searching for it in Market) It will help save your battery. I had a friend tell me about it and I use it. Don't know about the rings....maybe try changing the ring tones, just a thought. It also makes a nice backup with your laptop hooked to the phone, with a app. called Pdanet. Hope I have helped.

Advanced Task Killer caused me all kinds of problems. I have a mobile dock and keep it in there for hands free and charging while driving, never have battery problems.

Here is the thing I have a Droid phone and was looking for an extended battery. When I got the battery it was for a Droid x. Will not work on mine also a battery cover because the battery is thicker. If anyone would like it. It's yours I will send. Steve

just purchase PDA, download to puter and phone and follow instructions. If concerned do a google search for PDA net installations. We don't use it as we camp where wifi available but in a pinch it's there.
