Appears Dish has a fix for Wally + portable/dome antenna.

I received the email message as attached. At long last...

Anybody know what this update does? I have the apology letter, but doesn't state what they fixed.

It's supposed to be a fix for the Wallies constantly losing signal with a dome antenna.

Do all of the dome antennas have this issue? I will be buying either the Winegard Playmaker or the King Tailgater in a month or so to use when my Trav'ler cannot get the signals.

Our Winegard Pathway X1 dome and Dish Wally with U801 software have had no problems.

Not all Wally receivers have this problem.

Not all receivers with U801 software have this problem.

Not all dome antennas have this problem.

Just got the U802 software release about an hour ago. I didn't have problems before the release and have no problems after the release.

I tried 2 forced updates this morning.....both failed. Never completed after 2 hours.

I'll let the Wally sleep overnight and see what happens.

Software up date. Spent all day today, tech support twice. Finally moved the Wally to the home setup and got the update installed. Moved back out to trailer. Now no Denver locals in HD. 412 Rockies game HD. Switch back and forth still no avail. What kind of signal strength should I be getting. Any help would be appreciated. I’m using a Winegard G3 with a Wally

The saga continues at least for me. Winegard G2+ with Wally. Have tried every suggestion Dish tech support offers and tried many things on my own.....no joy. Spoke to tech support again this morning, she said they were so happy when U802 was released then the calls started coming in that it wouldn't download. Not sure how some of you were able to get U802....must be the type of dish you have or something. But for me and I'm sure others we will continue to get the error message. Sure is a PITA.

To get the download, I brought the Wally into my house and hooked it up to the large rooftop antenna that my Hopper 3 uses. Download installed last night around 2 am. Done. I do all the updates on the larger antenna.
