are TVs disabled while driving

I have a in motion winguard dish and wondering if it is law to disable the front tv while driving? I was programing or setting up dish network and had to move my rv down the drive way and the tv was turned off? I also found a fixture that the front tv is plugged into thinking maybe that is what turns it off, it has power tek on it?

It is the law in some, if not all states. The AC outlet where the TV is plugged into has a relay that disables the AC if the ignition switch is turned on.

While you can disable this by cutting the 12VDC wire that goes to the relay you will find LOTS of folks that will post this is against the law. It is NOT against the law to disable the feature, as far as I know, but it is against the law in most if not all states to have the TV (the one that the driver can see while driving) on while driving down the road.

I have disabled the one in our motorhome for the simple fact that I sometimes I am working in the motorhome with the ignition key on or even with the engine running and I want to have the TV on. We do not watch the FRONT TV driving down the road. However, my wife or grandkids may be watching the bedroom TV or another TV that is located behind me.

Here in WA it is illegal for the TV to be on if the driver can see it while driving. It's not illegal to disable the ignition interlock though.

Most people don't have time to watch TV while driving down the road, they are too busy texting and who knows what else.
