ATT mobley
Connected car , to my knowledge , is a Att plan for current ONSTAR cars only . I have a 17’ Chevy volt that has the $ 20 unlimited plan via onstar. The Mobley was offered as a work around for those without a 4 g connected onstar car.
ATT no longer offers the plan to new subscribers with a Mobley however some have reported sweet talking their way in but most say not happening ! The 20$ connected car plans are still available to those with the proper OnStar cars via the cars onboard WiFi only ......The catch is the car must be on for it to work.
I have no proof but common sense says so many used the Mobley as it wasn’t intended to be a full time source plugged into a adapter so they canceled it. Leaving those who got “in” still active. ATT has a reputation for trying these things and not realizing people will find a work around .. so they cancel them
I bought the Mobley early and have the 20$ unlimited plan and it works great . It does lock up and requires a reboot every few days probably because it was never intended to be on 24/7 We have it on a timer that shuts it down fir 15 min at 245am every day and that seemed to solve the problem.
the one built into the car works even better ! stronger WiFi and better cellular antenna as said though, the car must be on. It’s great when traveling in the car and we need to be on a go to meeting session or online for work .. we can still site see around our work!
The Mobley can still be bought but only activated on much more expensive plans. Plans that you can use a much more capable device on. At this point I see no good reason to buy a mobley ( other than as a spare in case a activated one dies)
