While the Batwing and Wingman antenna combo works very good for me, I am thinking that a amplifier would help with some marginal stations.
Does anyone have a recommendation or reference to an amplifier that can be used?
I would think it would be installed between the antenna and power switch and have power pass-thru so the amp in the antenna head is powered.

Your Batwing antenna should already be amplified. Your video switch box should have a power switch on it, with LED indicator, when on provides an amplified signal to the antenna. I would not suggest putting on a second amplifier assuming your Winegard Batwing is already amplified.

Pusherman is correct. The 12V power required to connect to the Winegard antenna is supplied to an amplifier built into the head of the Sensar antenna. You cannot boost the powered side of the antenna so you would be working with the output side of the signal only. Boosting this side has very little likelihood of creating much benefit.
If you do give something a try, be sure you are very careful about where you place it in-line and let us know if you find anything of any value.

Well actually I used a 20 db amp made by TERK.
I placed it between the switch and the antenna because it has a DC power pass-thru. There was improvement on some channels.
The improvement enabled solid (no break up or pixelation) viewing stations in HD 50 miles to the south, but not those to the west. I believe I might have been in the shadow of some hills for the stations to the west.
I guess our mileage will vary depending on location.

The Sensar (batwing) will be adding 16db of gain which is more than enough to make up for any signal loss between the Sensar and the television on any normal cable run. You can only amplify the signal you are already receiving from the Sensar so if you are receiving better signals with the second amplifier in the loop then somewhere in your run you have some bad connections, your going through splitters, etc.
Please be aware that the next time you move your coach and your closer to a tv signal you are extremely likely to start losing channels because they will be over-amplified. At this point you will not be able to just turn off the amplifier but will have to remove it from the loop completely.

Despite the fact the my post got edited to read xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx there was no inappropriate language used. I understand that the OP is the editor and may not have liked my response but to list the reason as inappropriate language in not accurate. I am sorry to have criticized an editor!

There is something very wrong going on in this forum right now. One cannot express a thought or an opinion with out heavy handed censorship. This post will never reach the board. I am going to write to the webmaster. I will gladly submit every post I have ever made for scrutiny. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

I made a post about a month back critical of a product I sell and it was deleted. Now there's a tough pill to swallow.
